The 2024/25 Premier League season delivered thrilling highs and dismal lows. While some players dazzled with world-class performances, others fell short of expectations, whether through poor form, bad luck, or tactical misfit. Based on FotMob ratings, here’s a countdown of the 15 lowest-rated players in the English top flight this season.

Ben Johnson’s Premier League return with Ipswich Town didn’t go to plan. The former West Ham full-back looked off the pace and was often a liability defensively.
14 – Axel Tuanzebe (Ipswich Town – 6.36)

Axel Tuanzebe struggled to re-establish himself at the highest level, offering little assurance at the back. His lack of consistent game time may have contributed to his underwhelming displays.
Paul Onuachu couldn’t replicate his Championship form in the Premier League. Despite his physical presence, he failed to make an impact as Southampton went straight back down.
Once a dynamic midfielder, Joe Willock’s influence at Newcastle has waned. He looked out of rhythm all season and failed to produce meaningful contributions.
11 – Joshua Zirkzee (Manchester United – 6.35)

Zirkzee’s debut season at Old Trafford was turbulent, marred by a humiliating early substitution and fan backlash. Although he improved slightly, his performances remained below par.
10 – Yukinari Sugawara (Southampton – 6.33)

Sugawara’s transition from Dutch football to the Premier League was rocky. He contributed as many penalties conceded as goal involvements—hardly a recipe for success.
9 – Vladimir Coufal (West Ham United – 6.32)

Coufal’s role at West Ham diminished with the arrival of Wan-Bissaka. When he did play, his impact was minimal, capping off a forgettable final season at the club.
Armstrong’s struggles in front of goal led to a mid-season loan to West Brom. His meager return of two goals highlighted the gap between Championship and Premier League levels.
7 – Jack Taylor (Ipswich Town – 6.30)

Despite a high work rate, Taylor failed to make a lasting impression. He started just four league games and never really found his rhythm at the top level.
6 – George Hirst (Ipswich Town – 6.29)

Hirst had limited chances to shine but didn’t take them. Though he scored three times, his lack of influence over games was clear.
5 – Oliver Skipp (Leicester City – 6.25)

Skipp was expected to be a stabilizing figure but couldn’t lift Leicester’s midfield. He failed to register a single goal or assist in over 1,100 minutes.
Big things were expected after his £72 million move, but Hojlund disappointed. With just four goals and no assists, his underwhelming season has cast doubt on his future.
3 – Cameron Archer (Southampton – 6.18)

Archer’s signing was meant to spearhead Southampton’s survival bid. Instead, he managed just two goals in over 1,400 minutes and struggled to adapt.
2 – Archie Gray (Tottenham Hotspur – 6.17)

Once tipped as England’s next big star, Gray struggled after being forced to play out of position at centre-back. His potential remains, but this season was one to forget.
1 – Conor Coady (Leicester City – 6.15)

Coady’s experience was meant to steady Leicester’s defence, but it didn’t work out. Conceding regularly and showing signs of decline, he ended the season as the lowest-rated player in the league.
