Vozinha’s World Cup story may not be over yet.
The 40-year-old Cape Verde goalkeeper became one of the surprise names of the tournament after a series of remarkable performances, including his display against Lionel Messi and Argentina in the round of 32.
Now, the veteran shot-stopper is being linked with a move to Inter Miami, where he could become teammates with the Argentine superstar.
According to Record, Inter Miami are interested in Vozinha, who is currently without a club after his contract with Portuguese side Chaves expired.

Inter Miami interest reported
The move is not done.
Record reports that nothing has been finalised, but that there is strong interest from the Florida club, which sees Vozinha as a possible free-agent signing after his World Cup performances.
That detail matters.
Because Vozinha is out of contract, Inter Miami would not need to pay a transfer fee. That makes the deal more accessible, even though there is still no confirmed agreement between the player and the MLS club.

According to AS USA, Inter Miami view Vozinha as a goalkeeper who could bring leadership and experience to the squad.
The same report also notes that several clubs have become attentive to his situation after the World Cup.
A late-career rise
Vozinha’s sudden global attention has been one of the more unexpected stories of the tournament.
He arrived at the World Cup as an experienced but little-known goalkeeper outside Cape Verde and the clubs he has represented in Portugal, Cyprus, Slovakia, Moldova and Angola.

That changed quickly.
According to Record, Vozinha had already confirmed his departure from Chaves before the tournament, writing that “it was an honour to represent this great club.”
The timing left him in a rare position.
At 40, he entered the biggest stage of his career without a club, then played himself into the international spotlight.

Messi praise adds to the story
The link with Inter Miami is especially striking because of what happened after Cape Verde’s match against Argentina.
Vozinha and Messi shared a warm moment after the final whistle, with the Cape Verde goalkeeper later revealing what the Argentina captain had told him.
Quoted by Record, Vozinha said: “Messi came over to me and said I had been fantastic, that people should be proud of me.”
He added: “I thanked him for the words, asked if we could swap shirts, and he accepted. I will never forget a moment like this.”

That exchange has only added to the appeal of the story.
A goalkeeper who frustrated Messi at the World Cup could now, if the reports develop into a deal, end up sharing a dressing room with him in Miami.
No agreement yet
For now, caution is needed.
Inter Miami’s interest has been reported, but there has been no official confirmation of a signing. Vozinha is available, his World Cup reputation has grown, and his free-agent status makes him an attractive option.
But there is still a clear difference between interest and a completed transfer.
What is certain is that Vozinha has turned a late-career World Cup opportunity into something much bigger.
He entered the tournament as Cape Verde’s experienced captain. He leaves it as a cult hero, a free agent with new attention around him, and now a goalkeeper being linked with one of the most watched clubs in world football.
