Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United’s influential captain, has seen his off-pitch earnings soar, with his image rights firm generating over £9 million in the 2024/25 season. This significant financial boost comes as the 31-year-old midfielder approaches the final year of his contract at Old Trafford, raising questions about his long-term future.
According to accounts filed by BF8 Sports last month, as reported by the Manchester Evening News, Fernandes’ firm recorded substantial income. “Bruno Fernandes earned over £9 million from his image rights during the 2024/25 season,” the publication stated.
A lucrative off-pitch enterprise
BF8 Sports, founded in 2020 with Fernandes as its sole director, reported a total income of £9.5 million for the period. This marks an impressive £1.1 million increase compared to the previous 12 months. The firm also demonstrated shrewd financial management, reducing costs by 44% and cutting over £200,000 from its tax and social security bill, leaving a net figure of £9.2 million.
These image rights earnings translate to approximately £176,000 per week, a substantial sum that complements his reported £300,000 weekly wage from Manchester United.

Contract crossroads at Old Trafford
Despite his crucial role and burgeoning commercial value, Fernandes’ contractual situation at United remains a talking point. He has just one year left on his current deal, though it includes a one-year option to extend. The club reportedly informed him earlier this year that they have no desire to lose him in the current transfer window. However, there are currently no plans to offer the Portuguese international a new contract, a deal he signed two years ago this summer.
Speculation regarding a potential move to the Saudi Pro League surfaced during the January transfer window, highlighting the interest his talent commands globally.
