Harry Kane’s numbers from 2025-26 are the reason Bayern Munich are pushing for an early answer on his future.
The England captain scored 61 goals in 51 appearances for the German champions, taking the European Golden Shoe by a nine-goal margin over Erling Haaland and lifting a third straight Torjägerkanone as the Bundesliga’s top scorer. Only Lionel Messi’s 82-goal 2011-12 has produced a bigger season in Europe this century.
At club level it delivered a domestic treble in Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and DFL-Supercup. In the Champions League it stopped at Paris Saint-Germain, who went on to lift the trophy Bayern want most.
Bayern chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen has already made the club’s position clear.

“Both parties are very keen [to extend his contract],” Dreesen told reporters.
“Now we need to make sure those expectations align and that we find common ground.”
Kane’s current deal runs to 2027. Reporting in Germany, led by BILD’s Christian Falk, points to a two-year extension to summer 2029 on his existing €25 million gross annual salary, with formal talks due to begin once he is back with Vincent Kompany’s squad after Bayern’s Asian pre-season tour.
The 2030 target
The length is not incidental. Kane, 33, has openly framed the extension around one more World Cup in 2030 and is prepared to adapt his game to stretch that window, including dropping deeper if required.

He gave England fresh evidence this summer that he can carry a national side into a fourth. On 27 June he headed home against Panama at MetLife Stadium to overtake Gary Lineker as England’s all-time World Cup scorer, his 11th goal at the tournament across three editions. He closed the summer on 14 career World Cup goals across 2018, 2022 and 2026, seven short of Messi’s new all-time record of 21, as England finished third at the tournament, their best return in 60 years.
Barcelona and Al-Hilal on the outside
That is the profile Barcelona and Al-Hilal have been trying to prise loose. Both clubs are watching the situation but have been given the same message: Kane wants to stay in the Bundesliga, and a return to Tottenham is off the table.
A previously reported €65m release clause is no longer live either, having lapsed at the end of January, leaving any exit dependent on a negotiation Bayern have no reason to open.
Dreesen sounded in no hurry.
