While many of football’s elite have etched their names in Champions League history, some of the game’s most legendary figures never lifted the famous trophy. Despite illustrious careers filled with domestic triumphs and international glory, these 20 players fell short of conquering Europe’s most prestigious club competition. A Brazilian icon of the 1980s, Zico dazzled fans with his flair and technical brilliance. Unfortunately, he never played in the Champions League due to timing and played most of his career outside Europe’s biggest spotlight.

England’s modern-day goalscoring talisman, Kane reached the Champions League final in 2019 with Tottenham but fell to Liverpool. His move to Bayern Munich offers another shot, though the trophy still eludes him.
