Turki Alalshikh confirmed the fight on Thursday, delivering on a promise he first made in April.

“For 15 years no one has been able to make this fight,” the Saudi power broker said in his announcement.

“I can now confirm that Fury Vs Joshua will be coming to the UK, as I promised British boxing fans. The time for talking is over.”

Netflix will stream the fight live worldwide at no extra cost to its members.

Joshua’s response on Instagram

Anthony Joshua answered the news within hours on Instagram.

“The quietest ones often pull the strings. Those who appear least involved may hold the greatest control. Let them shout first, the wisest wait until the final move.”

He then shared the official fight poster with a shorter line: “FINALLY. FURY vs J.”

Hearn and White share a card

The announcement also ended a promoter row that had threatened to sink the fight. Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s long-time promoter, had spent weeks arguing that Joshua’s contract left no room for Dana White, Zuffa Boxing or TKO in any promotional set-up.

Both men are now on the same card. White is billed as co-promoter alongside The Ring, Alalshikh’s outfit.

“For more than a decade, boxing fans have been clamoring for the heavyweight showdown between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua,” White said.

“Together, they bring 66 wins, 52 knockouts and multiple heavyweight world titles into the ring.”

Cardiff’s Principality Stadium

Principality Stadium, home of the Welsh Rugby Union, holds up to 80,000 with its roof closed. Cardiff Council leader Chris Weaver called it “one of the most anticipated bouts in British boxing history” in the venue’s own announcement, with the event still subject to licence approval.

The fight is set for 12 rounds at no weight limit, with a full undercard of world-class bouts to be named later. Both heavyweights warmed up in July: Joshua stopped Kristian Prenga, and Tyson Fury saw off Mariusz Wach.

Fury takes a 36-2-1 record into Cardiff with 25 knockouts. Joshua stands at 30-4 with 27 stoppages.
