Bottas will race in Azerbaijan on Saturday wearing a one-off yellow-and-orange lid decorated with rhinos silhouetted against a sunset, and any fan who buys a signed nude card will be entered into a draw to win it after the flag drops.

The Finn is fundraising for Care for Wild, a South African sanctuary that rescues, rehabilitates and rewilds rhino calves orphaned by poaching, and runs its 24-hour security and veterinary work on donations.

The timing is not accidental. World Rhino Day fell on 22 September, three days before Bottas rolled into Baku with the new design.

“I have a special helmet for Baku. This week, it was World Rhino Day, a very important day, so it is a rhino-themed helmet,” Bottas said.

“I want to help rhinos. I want to help a charity called Care For Wild. And you can help us too.”

The artwork was drawn by Bottas’s partner, Australian professional cyclist Tiffany Cromwell, who has designed his helmets since he returned to Formula 1 this year.

Her season-opening helmet for him used his favourite blue and the Finnish coat of arms; the Baku one-off trades that for warm desert colours and animal silhouettes.

The BOTTASS calendar came first

The signed cards themselves are cropped photos of Bottas without clothes, and he made no attempt to sell them straight.

“Stay tuned. Bott-ass is back,” he told fans on Instagram, holding one up to the camera.

He has been here before. His 2024 “BOTTASS” calendar, shot in Aspen by photographer Paul Ripke, sold out and raised about $150,000 for Movember, with $5 from each sale going to the men’s health charity.

Bottas returned to the grid this year with the new Cadillac team alongside Sergio Pérez after spending 2025 as Mercedes’ reserve driver, and heads into Saturday’s race still chasing his first point in Cadillac’s debut season.

Fans will be able to buy the signed cards through Bottas’s own channels, with the winner of the race-worn Baku helmet drawn after the chequered flag.
