Laila Hasanovic knew nothing about tennis when Jannik Sinner first asked her along to a match. Her introduction was the 2025 French Open final against Carlos Alcaraz, which ran to five and a half hours.
She told ELLE Danmark, on whose October 2026 cover she appears, how she has adjusted to life alongside a top player.
“I’m in a relationship with someone who dedicates an incredible amount of his time to his passion, and I find that really inspiring to follow. At the same time, it’s a world I neither grew up with nor have moved in before.”
The interview is the first time Hasanovic has spoken at any length about the relationship, which she has kept out of her own social feeds even as she has been a fixture in Sinner’s courtside box for more than a year.

From Schumacher to Sinner
Hasanovic is a Copenhagen-based model and content creator who was a Miss Universe Denmark finalist in 2019 and previously dated Formula 1 driver Mick Schumacher. She has 500,000 Instagram followers and launched a Scandinavian beauty brand, NRD55, earlier in 2026.
Tennis fans first placed her at Sinner’s side on 26 October 2025, when he thanked “family, my girlfriend, friends” from the podium after winning the Vienna Open. She was in the box that night, sitting with his parents.
Rumours had already been building. She had been photographed at his French Open final that summer, and eagle-eyed viewers had spotted her image on his phone lock screen during his US Open run.
She has been a regular at his biggest matches since. When Sinner won Wimbledon on 12 July 2026, the tournament’s own Instagram captioned a courtside photo of her “tennis is a game of love.”

Return in Beijing
Sinner has said little publicly about the relationship since Vienna and the pair have avoided joint interviews, leaving the ELLE feature as the closest either has come to describing what dating a player who spends most of the year training in Monte Carlo looks like day to day.
He has not played a competitive match since Wimbledon. According to recent reports, the Italian is set to return at the China Open, which begins in Beijing on 30 September.
