Raphinha has signed a new deal that keeps him at Barcelona until June 2030, according to Fabrizio Romano, with the player’s legal team having approved the final terms. His previous contract had been due to expire in 2028.
The official announcement and signing ceremony could come as early as Friday, provided the documentation goes through as planned.
The timing is no accident. Barcelona have won every one of their first seven La Liga matches, and the Brazilian is at the center of it. He tops the scoring charts with 12 goals, five clear of Kylian Mbappé and his own team-mate Lamine Yamal.
Back-to-back Player of the Month
Raphinha was named La Liga Player of the Month for September on 2 October, his second consecutive award after also claiming August’s prize. In September alone he scored seven goals and added two assists across four matchdays, including hat-tricks in consecutive games against Racing Santander and Sevilla.

He beat Mbappé, Atlético Madrid’s Jonathan David, Rayo Vallecano’s Sergio Camello and Elche’s Fer Niño to the September honor.
The 29-year-old has been reshaped under head coach Hansi Flick, who has used him as a center-forward rather than as a wide attacker. The switch has produced 14 goals and three assists in his first eight appearances of the season.
Deco closed out the renewal
The agreement had been building for weeks. In mid-September, Barcelona sporting director Deco described the renewal talks as all but complete, with only administrative detail left to settle. Raphinha’s previous renewal, which took his deal to 2028, had been signed in May 2025.
He joined Barcelona from Leeds United in 2022 and turned down approaches from Saudi Arabian clubs during his early years at the club. Under Flick he now wears the captain’s armband alongside senior figures Yamal and Pedri.

The new deal slots alongside long-term commitments Barcelona have already secured from Yamal and Pedri, part of a sustained push to lock the squad’s core in place while they chase a third straight La Liga title.
Fit for the Clasico
The timing matters on the pitch too. Barcelona host Getafe at Spotify Camp Nou on 10 October, with a Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain to come and El Clasico against Real Madrid on 25 October.
Raphinha was cleared to play after an injury scare with Brazil during the international break. Tests on the back of his right thigh showed only a mild muscle edema with no greater injury found, and Barcelona’s medical staff have given him the green light for Getafe on Saturday.
