The man who ended Arsenal’s 22-year wait for a league title is not going anywhere. Arteta put pen to paper on a new long-term deal that runs through the end of the 2029-30 season, the club announced on Wednesday.

His entire coaching staff have renewed on the same terms.

“It’s a privilege to commit my future to the club and to continue to work with exceptional people who want the best for Arsenal,” Arteta said in the club’s announcement.

“This club is unique, its character and the way it makes you feel, and I have a great sense of privilege that our journey together will continue.”

Arteta, 44, took charge in December 2019 and holds the best winning record of any full-time Arsenal manager, with a 62.05% win rate across 361 matches in all competitions, the Premier League confirmed. He is the longest-serving manager in the top flight.

Three points behind City

The extension lands with Arsenal second in the table after five matches of the 2026-27 season, three points adrift of Manchester City. The leaders have won all five of their fixtures; Arsenal have 12 points from four wins and one defeat, with Brighton & Hove Albion a further two points back in third.

Last season Arsenal held off Manchester City to win the Premier League for the first time since 2003-04. The same run produced a Champions League final, which they lost to Paris Saint-Germain on penalties.

Kroenkes back the plan

Co-chairs Stan Kroenke and Josh Kroenke said in the club’s statement:
