Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City have been quietly waved away. In its Friday report, TeamTalk’s Graeme Bailey wrote that Michael Olise has “little desire to return to the Premier League” and that the three English clubs have been “given very little encouragement” over a potential move.
It is a hard line for Liverpool in particular. Earlier this month English reporting had cast the Reds as the leading contender for the 24-year-old France international, who is widely tipped as a long-term successor to Mohamed Salah on the right flank.
Bayern’s answer is to make staying irresistible. The German champions are preparing a renewed contract offer that would put Olise on terms comparable to Harry Kane, around €500,000 a week, with Kane’s own extension due to be settled first, as Bild journalist Christian Falk has detailed. Olise is thought to be on roughly €14m a year at present.
Bayern view Olise as being “on a par with any attacking midfielder in world football”, TeamTalk reports, a status underlined by his inclusion on the 30-man 2026 Ballon d’Or shortlist, with the ceremony set for the London Palladium on 26 October.

The LaLiga threat Bayern cannot ignore
Not every suitor has been shown the door. Both Real Madrid and Barcelona have signalled they would move if an opening appeared, and senior figures at Bayern privately regard a Spanish approach, not an English one, as the biggest danger to any extension. It is the one scenario thought capable of unsettling Olise in Munich.
That caveat matters because Olise is not yet tied down long-term. His existing deal runs to 2029 with no release clause, and sporting director Max Eberl has already set out the timetable.
“Michael has made exceptional progress with us. We will certainly sit down at the appropriate time to discuss the next steps,” Eberl told Sport Bild in September.
“He still has a three-year contract, and I would like to emphasise there is no release clause. Let me put it this way: we should know by next summer whether or not he is inclined to extend his contract.”

A rare concession on the table
Even without Spanish pressure, Bayern are preparing to move further than usual. According to Falk, Olise’s camp wants a release clause written into any new contract and the club is open to the idea, with a starting figure of around €200m, a mechanism Bayern typically refuse. The recent exceptions have been Kane and Jamal Musiala.
The arithmetic that frames all of this sits in Olise’s output. Since arriving from Crystal Palace, he has produced 50 goals and 58 assists in 114 appearances for Bayern.
By Eberl’s own timetable, Bayern expect to know by next summer whether Olise is willing to sign on.
