Odell Beckham Jr. could pull on a Minnesota Vikings jersey for the first time on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints, less than two weeks after the New York Giants cut him loose. He has not spent that fortnight quietly.
Beckham vented on Instagram after agreeing with a fan who framed his Giants reunion as a publicity stunt.
“I’m super smart!!!! But I didn’t see this one, my brotha. They got me!!!”
“They won on top of the money u talkin [about], I made them. I came in HUMBLY, took vet min, then EARNED my spot [and] didn’t say nothing bout no $$$, which I [know] make for everybody.”

He also conceded the exit stung.
“Ima tell u this ima grown man and this [s–t] didn’t hurt me but it did when they cut me like that cause part of me is like I shoulda known better.”
19 snaps, zero catches
The Giants released Beckham on September 29, three weeks into the 2026 season. He had played 19 snaps across three games, drawing one target without a catch.
Giants head coach John Harbaugh, hired in January from the Baltimore Ravens, explained the move a day later.

“Tough, but we just weren’t getting enough. It just wasn’t working for us,” Harbaugh said.
“I love the guy. I hope he lands somewhere and gets a shot.”
O’Connell’s phone call
Minnesota signed Beckham to its practice squad on October 7, reuniting him with Kevin O’Connell. The Vikings head coach was Beckham’s offensive coordinator on the 2021 Los Angeles Rams team that won Super Bowl LVI.
O’Connell called after the release.

“It seemed as if he wanted me to be here,” Beckham told reporters.
“And that was expressed to me. And that feels good. . . . It always feels better when you’re doing it for somebody who, you know, you feel like their heart is there for it as well.”
Debut depends on the receiver room
Whether Beckham is elevated to the active roster will depend on how two of Minnesota’s starting receivers come through the week. Justin Jefferson has been nursing an ankle issue and Jordan Addison has also been on the injury report.
Kickoff at the Caesars Superdome is at 12 noon local time on Sunday, with FOX carrying the broadcast.
