Kim Kardashian on Formula one: “Something I’ve never seen before”

Kim Kardashian did not pretend the first encounter had not happened.

When Martin Brundle reached her on the grid at the 2026 Singapore Grand Prix on Sunday, Kardashian opened with the line that acknowledged everything.

“Did I not know the rules? Did we get off on the wrong foot?” she asked Brundle, as the two met on Sky Sports’ live grid walk.

Brundle told her it was “absolutely fine.”

She said Formula 1 was “amazing and fun and wild and something I’ve never seen before.” Asked whether her boyfriend Lewis Hamilton was going to win, she replied: “He is. I’m just praying for the best tonight.”

Khloe stepped in at Monaco

The exchange only mattered because of what happened in Monte Carlo on 7 June. Brundle introduced himself on the grid, got a blank look and a small wave in return, and Kardashian was ushered away by her sister Khloe. The clip traveled widely within hours, and the backlash, aimed at Kardashian rather than the Sky broadcaster, ran for weeks.

Her team reportedly called Sky Sports ahead of time

The follow-up at Marina Bay may not have been accidental. According to reporting attributed to the Daily Mail and relayed by The Blast, Kardashian’s representatives contacted Sky Sports before the race to make sure the grid walk interview actually happened this time.

“Kim’s team reached out to Sky Sports to make sure she could do the Martin Brundle grid walk chat due to the backlash she had received last time,” an unnamed insider told the Daily Mail, according to IBTimes UK, which noted it had not independently verified the claim.

The same reporting said Kardashian waited for Brundle on the red carpet at 7:15 p.m. local time rather than beside Hamilton’s Ferrari, so the broadcaster would not miss her in the grid-walk scramble.

Hamilton’s race ended in sixth

The on-track story was less friendly to the couple. Max Verstappen won from pole, his first Singapore victory, in his 250th grand prix start, ahead of Charles Leclerc and Kimi Antonelli. Hamilton, who started third on mediums, finished sixth after calling off a pit stop under the Virtual Safety Car and getting stuck on ageing tyres. He apologised to Ferrari over the radio for his part in the strategy call.
