Four of Europe’s biggest clubs are circling the same 23-year-old centre-back at Elland Road. According to a Mundo Deportivo report carried by Goal, Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has flagged Tarik Muharemovic as a priority defensive signing for summer 2027, with Inter Milan already working harder behind the scenes to lure him to the San Siro.
Bayern Munich and Liverpool complete a shortlist that has turned a Leeds player bought barely four months ago into one of the most watched defenders in Europe. Leeds signed Muharemovic from Sassuolo this summer in a reported €37m deal and the valuation has climbed rapidly since. The Hard Tackle, citing TEAMtalk, now puts Leeds’ asking price above £60m, with the projected market value in a 2027 window expected to push past €70m.
Flick’s defensive crisis in Catalonia
The Barcelona interest arrives at the worst possible moment for the Catalan club’s existing centre-backs. Flick has been forced to patch together a makeshift back line after back-to-back defeats against Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, with Eric García, Andreas Christensen and Jules Koundé all absent through injury.
A 4-2 beating in Paris on 20 October ended an 11-game winning run in all competitions, and a 2-1 Clásico loss five days later deepened the alarm. Pau Cubarsí and Gerard Martín were left to anchor the defence while academy centre-back Álex Campos was pushed up to the first team.

Muharemovic, left-footed and 1.92m tall, fits the profile Mundo Deportivo says Flick wants: a ball-playing defender comfortable with the high line Barcelona want to restore.
Inter are the ones moving fastest
Inter wanted Muharemovic last summer before Leeds moved first, and are back in for him now. The Italian club see him as a long-term replacement in a defence that needs refreshing, and reports place them ahead of their European rivals at this stage.
Bayern Munich have identified him as their top centre-back target for 2027, with Vincent Kompany’s staff viewing the Bosnian’s passing range as a fit for their build-up play.
Liverpool, meanwhile, are tracking him as a potential option for the window after that.

Leeds hold the strongest hand
Leeds have no interest in cashing in. Muharemovic has played every minute of their opening Premier League campaign under Daniel Farke, with a goal and an assist in the league. His contract runs until 2031.
The Hard Tackle, citing Football Insider, reported in early October that Leeds are prepared to reject any January approach and feel no financial pressure to sell. A summer 2027 bidding war between Inter, Barcelona, Bayern and Liverpool would, on current valuations, roughly double the fee Leeds paid Sassuolo in a matter of months.
The Mundo Deportivo report pencils Flick’s move in for next summer. Inter’s next step is expected sooner.
