Ten goals and six assists in 11 games. Seven assists at a World Cup. Twenty-seven goals and 35 assists across 69 matches last season. That is the case Bayern Munich’s chief executive is betting on when he says Olise has a Ballon d’Or in him.
Dreesen has put his belief in the sharpest possible terms.
“I’m 100% convinced that Michael will win the Ballon d’Or in his career,” the CEO said in comments reported by Bulinews, pointing to the environment the 24-year-old has found in Munich.
He went further in an interview later carried by Onefootball.

“If someone asked me today whether he would win the Ballon d’Or one day, my answer would always be: I don’t see why not.”
Olise finished ninth in the 2026 Ballon d’Or with 296 points, according to the final ranking, the night Kane walked off with the trophy on 1,055.
The World Cup that rewrote the conversation
Olise went to the 2026 World Cup with France and came back with a record. Seven assists across the tournament, the last one a one-two with Kylian Mbappé in the 67th minute of the bronze-medal match against England, broke Pelé’s single-tournament mark set in 1970.
He did it without scoring.

Dreesen lines up the extension
The second strand of the CEO’s statement was contractual. Olise is tied to Bayern until 2029 after joining from Crystal Palace for €53m in 2024, and Real Madrid came calling in the summer of 2026. Bayern held firm.
Dreesen now wants to push the deal further, saying Bayern will discuss the future with Olise when the time is right and want him in Munich for as long as possible. Transfermarkt currently values the France winger at €180m, more than triple what Bayern paid for him.
The 2026-27 campaign reads like a continuation of the World Cup: 10 goals and six assists in his first 11 appearances for Bayern.
