Tottenham plot sensational swoop for Real Madrid’s Rodrygo amid record transfer plans
Tottenham Hotspur are preparing for what could be their most ambitious transfer windows in years, as part of a wider strategy to rebuild their squad around youth, pace, and attacking depth under new manager Thomas Frank.
According to TEAMtalk, Real Madrid forward Rodrygo has emerged as one of the club’s leading targets, with senior figures determined to make a statement of intent in the market.
Under Frank’s guidance, Spurs have enjoyed a bright start to the season in both the Premier League and Champions League, and club sources suggest major investment is on the way.

Raising the bar
Transfer insider Dean Jones told TEAMtalk that Tottenham’s hierarchy, led by ENIC, are prepared to make some of the biggest signings in their history as they plan for 2026 and beyond.
“Before the January window opens, we’ll get a clearer idea of how high Tottenham are ready to set the bar when it comes to new signings,” Jones said. “It’s a tough window to make a statement signing, but I think their intent will soon become obvious.”
He added that strengthening wide attacking areas is a top priority, with Rodrygo and Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz among the names being tracked. However, Jones warned that Spurs must be cautious as new investment brings new premiums in the market.
“If the likes of Rodrygo or Yildiz become a genuine possibility in January or summer, Spurs will definitely put themselves in contention,” he said.

Targets in demand
Rodrygo, 24, has long been admired by Tottenham, though several other Premier League sides are also expected to be interested should he be available. Manchester City reportedly explored the Brazilian as a potential Savinho replacement last summer, while Liverpool could also move if Mohamed Salah leaves next year.
The winger is believed to be open to testing himself in England, a prospect that adds intrigue to Spurs’ pursuit.
Meanwhile, Juventus starlet Kenan Yildiz is also attracting attention from Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool. TEAMtalk previously reported that contract renewal talks between Yildiz and Juventus are imminent, but failure to agree terms could trigger a Premier League bidding war.
Expanding the shortlist
In addition to Rodrygo and Yildiz, Tottenham are said to be monitoring Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman. A reported fallout between Lookman and manager Ivan Juric has raised the possibility of a January exit, potentially opening the door for Spurs to strike.

At the same time, TEAMtalk claims Real Madrid have shown interest in Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven, though sources indicate it would take an enormous bid for the club to consider selling.
With ambition high and backing secured, Tottenham appear set for a defining chapter in their rebuild under Thomas Frank, one that could bring some of the biggest names in Europe to north London.
