Raphinha, trust and a turning point

A moment revealed after silverware

In the aftermath of Barcelona’s Super Cup triumph, attention briefly shifted from the trophy itself to a personal story from within the squad.

According to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Brazilian winger reflected on a period when his future at the club was uncertain, despite being part of a high profile project at Camp Nou.

The timing of those comments, coming just after a title win, gave them added weight.

Uncertainty before change

Speaking in remarks shared by Romano on X, Raphinha explained that his situation at Barcelona once felt unresolved.

“If Hansi Flick didn't come I would have left Barça. He changed everything”, Raphinha said, according to Romano.

At the time, the winger suggested, clarity was missing, and the lack of reassurance made his long term role unclear.

Confidence as a deciding factor

Raphinha pointed to Flick’s early communication as the key difference.

“He told me I was going to be important. This is what a player needs. Confidence”, he added, as quoted by Romano.

Rather than promises about tactics or minutes, the player emphasized the value of trust, something he felt had been absent before the coaching change.

That message, he indicated, was enough to shift his mindset and commitment.

From doubt to confirmation

Barcelona’s Super Cup win has since reinforced that decision.

The trophy represents more than silverware, serving as confirmation that the club’s direction under Flick is beginning to produce results, both collectively and individually.

For Raphinha, what once felt like an exit point has instead become a reminder of how quickly circumstances can change when belief is restored.
