‘Utterly shameless’: Piers Morgan slams Beckhams over Brooklyn fallout
Piers Morgan has intensified his criticism of the Beckham family, weighing in on a deeply personal dispute that has rapidly turned into a public spectacle involving one of Britain’s most famous households.
The broadcaster’s remarks come amid growing attention on a rift between David and Victoria Beckham and their eldest son, Brooklyn, after the 26-year-old publicly accused his parents of mistreating his wife, Nicola Peltz.
A family dispute made public
Brooklyn Beckham addressed months of speculation last week by releasing a statement confirming a breakdown in his relationship with his parents. He said he had no intention of reconciling and framed the decision as an act of self-assertion.
According to Brooklyn, tensions escalated around his wedding, where he claimed his mother interfered with key moments, including the couple’s first dance, and later behaved inappropriately in front of guests. He also alleged that his parents pressured him to sign away rights to his name prior to the ceremony.

“My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we’ve tried to come together as one,” Brooklyn said. He added that his mother had “repeatedly invited women from my past into our lives in ways that were clearly intended to make us both uncomfortable.”
Brooklyn further accused his family of prioritising commercial interests over personal relationships. “My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else. Brand Beckham comes first,” he said, arguing that expressions of family support were tied to social media visibility and public appearances.
Beckham parents avoid direct response
Neither David nor Victoria Beckham have directly addressed the allegations. David Beckham briefly referenced parenting during an appearance on CNBC’s Squawk Box, saying that “you have to let your children make mistakes,” without commenting on his son’s claims.
The comments did little to quiet discussion, as the dispute quickly became fodder for commentators and media figures.

Morgan delivers a scathing assessment
Morgan first reacted on social media on January 20, branding the Beckhams “narcissistic PR-obsessed twerps.” He expanded on that view days later while speaking on his YouTube programme, Piers Morgan Uncensored.
“My take is this: the Beckhams, led by the parents, if David and Victoria could pre-emptively sell their death to Netflix for a 10-part series and bring the kids into it, they would,” Morgan said.
“They are the single most commercial money-grabbers I’ve ever seen in the history of celebrity,” he added, describing the family as “utterly shameless” and pointing to their history of selling access to major life events.
Despite largely siding against David and Victoria, Morgan also criticised Brooklyn, arguing that the statement reflected “entitlement” from “a boy that’s had the silver spoon since the day he was born.” He likened the feud to Prince Harry’s estrangement from the Royal Family, suggesting a familiar pattern of privilege colliding with public grievance.

A feud shaped by fame
The clash has underscored how celebrity families, whose public and private lives are often tightly intertwined with branding, face unique pressures when disputes become public. In this case, the fallout has drawn scrutiny not only for what was said, but for how quickly a personal conflict became a global talking point.
