Another change as Forest seek fresh start
Nottingham Forest have dismissed Sean Dyche after just 114 days in charge, acting hours after a frustrating home draw that left the club hovering above the relegation zone.
The Premier League side confirmed the decision in a 57-word statement released early Thursday. Forest said Dyche had been “relieved of his duties as head coach,” thanked him and his staff for their efforts, and added that no further comment would be made.
The announcement followed Wednesday’s 0-0 draw with Wolves at the City Ground a result that leaves Forest three points above the drop zone with 12 league matches remaining.
Draw proves decisive
Forest dominated possession against the league’s bottom-placed side but struggled to create clear chances, a pattern that has surfaced repeatedly in recent weeks. The stalemate intensified pressure on Dyche, with concerns growing that the team’s progress had stalled at a critical point in the season.

A year after pushing for European qualification, Forest are now focused on securing their top-flight status.
Dyche addressed speculation about his future in his post-match press conference on Wednesday night, striking a measured tone when discussing his relationship with owner Evangelos Marinakis.
“The owner has been fair to me, without a shadow of a doubt,” Dyche said. “If anyone chooses to change in football now, that’s their decision. We’ve all seen it.”
“That’s just the reality of it”
The 54-year-old made clear he remained committed to the role while acknowledging the volatility that defines modern management.

“I just work very hard. I care about this club. I’ve made that clear. If the owner wants to make a change, then that’s up to him - that’s just the reality of it.”
His comments reflected acceptance of the scrutiny surrounding the team’s form rather than open frustration.
Dyche’s departure marks Marinakis’ third managerial change of the season. Appointed in October on a contract running until 2027, he followed Nuno Espirito Santo and Ange Postecoglou out of the club during a turbulent campaign.
Forest’s leadership appears convinced that a change was necessary to spark improvement from a squad assembled at significant cost. The club must now identify a successor capable of steadying results quickly as the relegation battle tightens.
