KSI announces investment in English football club alongside Ex-England star Andy Carroll

YouTuber KSI has become a shareholder in National League side Dagenham & Redbridge, joining a growing group of new investors following the club’s recent takeover.

The 32-year-old entertainer, whose real name is Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji, confirmed the move in a video posted on X, formerly Twitter. His investment comes shortly after former England striker Andy Carroll was also revealed as part of the club’s ownership group.

The Athletic reported that Olatunji is set to acquire roughly a 20 percent minority stake in the east London club. The transaction must still receive approval from the National League before it can be finalised.

New investors at Victoria Road

Dagenham & Redbridge entered a new ownership era last month when U.S.-based consortium Happy Fan Group completed a takeover of the club.

The group has indicated it intends to attract additional investors as part of a wider effort to grow the club’s profile and develop operations both on and off the pitch.

Carroll’s investment was announced last week, while The Athletic also reported that former Queen’s Park Rangers owner Tony Fernandes has expressed interest in purchasing a separate stake.

The Daggers play their home matches at Victoria Road in east London and currently compete in the fifth tier of English football.

Long-standing connection

For Olatunji, the investment also reconnects him with a club that featured in one of his early FIFA YouTube series, Race to Division One, which helped grow his online following.

In the video announcing his involvement, he wrote:

"I’m so excited to start this journey. It’s gonna be a rollercoaster for sure but I hope to bring Dagenham and Redbridge … back to the glory days. For those of you that are OG fans (Race to Division One), you’ll know that this is a full circle moment for me. So join me on this exhilarating adventure and I’ll see you all at Victoria road this Saturday! I’ll be streaming too haha."

Olatunji rose to prominence on YouTube and later expanded into boxing, taking part in high-profile fights against Logan Paul and Tommy Fury. He has also appeared as a guest judge on Britain’s Got Talent.

Ambitions for the club

Speaking in the video, he said he hopes to help turn matchdays at Victoria Road into a bigger event for supporters while building a stronger community around the club.

"I want the place to be rocking. I want it to be an event whenever you come here. Playing a video game and owning a football club is very different, I know that. But with Race to Division One, it was a journey. With this club, I want to do the unthinkable. I want to take Dagenham & Redbridge to the Premier League."

He added:

"I have some additions to really take it to the next level and I want to build a community. Everyone here is fantastic, hard-working people and I want to be the man who can affect things on the pitch as well as off it."
