Transfer News: Antoine Griezmann to Orlando City
Antoine Griezmann appears increasingly likely to continue his career in Major League Soccer, with a summer move to Orlando City now back on track after earlier negotiations collapsed.
According to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, the French international has agreed in principle to join the MLS side on a free transfer from Atlético Madrid in July 2026. The development was also reported by Spanish outlet Marca, which stated that Griezmann is due to travel to the United States this week as part of the ongoing process.
Romano wrote on X: “🚨💣 BREAKING: Antoine Griezmann to Orlando City, here we go! Verbal agreement in place for French star to join MLS side.”
Deal revived after earlier setback
The proposed transfer had initially been discussed during the March window but failed to materialize at that time. According to Romano, talks were later reopened, leading to a renewed agreement that shifts the timeline to the summer of 2026.
