Jurgen Klopp responds to Real Madrid links
Jurgen Klopp says he has no immediate plans to return to management, while firmly dismissing speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid.
The former Liverpool manager, who stepped away from coaching at the end of the 2023/24 season, is now working as Red Bull’s head of global football. Although his name continues to surface in connection with high-profile vacancies, Klopp indicated he is still enjoying his time away from the touchline.
Speaking to Magenta TV, as reported by The Daily Mail, the 58-year-old pushed back strongly on recent claims suggesting he could take over in Madrid. He made clear that no contact has been made and questioned the credibility of such reports.
Klopp said there had been no approach from the Spanish club, adding that neither he nor his agent had received any communication. He expressed frustration at how quickly speculation can spread without substance, suggesting some reports are created without any factual basis.

He also struck a lighter tone when addressing the rumours, joking that he might just as well take charge of Atletico Madrid at the same time — before adding that Real would need to call first.
While ruling out any imminent move, Klopp also addressed suggestions that he could be nearing retirement. He indicated that, although he is not currently planning his next job, he does not consider his coaching career to be over.
Klopp explained that he is not actively thinking about his next step and has made no concrete plans. However, he left open the possibility of returning in the future, noting that he has not reached an age where he feels ready to step away from coaching permanently.
For now, Klopp appears content in his current role, with any potential return to management remaining an open-ended question rather than an immediate prospect.
