In the heart of Deventer, the GO Ahead Eagles stand as a symbol of local football pride. Founded in 1971, this Dutch club embodies the spirit of its community, making its home at the atmospheric De Adelaarshorst, aptly named “The Eagle’s Nest”. With a capacity of just over 10,000, it is a ground that buzzes with the passion of its loyal supporters.

Without a vast collection of silverware or a roster of globally renowned stars, the Eagles’ story is instead one of persistence and the enduring bond between a club and its city. Their journey through Dutch football is marked by a commitment to the game, often battling against bigger-budget teams with a fierce determination.

GO Ahead Eagles continues to represent Deventer on the national stage, a testament to the club’s resilience and the unwavering support that defines its character. They remain a recognizable part of the Dutch football fabric, a club where local identity truly comes to life on match days.
