The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback made the claim on part two of Cam Heyward’s “Not Just Football” podcast, released on Thursday.
Rodgers said he proposed in December 2020 and that Woodley said yes, but that within days she raised a request that blindsided him. According to Rodgers, she told him she needed to sleep with another man before the wedding.
“A couple days after that she tells me, ‘Before we get married I gotta go f**k this guy,'” Rodgers said on the podcast, according to TMSPN’s transcript of the interview.
Rodgers did not name the man and offered no further identifying detail. Woodley has not publicly responded to the claim.

His retelling of the proposal itself was blunt.
“I propose, and she says, ‘Yes’. Now, she maybe felt like she was forced to make a decision,” Rodgers told Heyward.
A ring returned in March 2021
Rodgers said the engagement ring came off in March 2021, three months after he proposed, and that the widely reported 2022 split did not match what had actually happened between them.
“There wasn’t even a relationship in 2022 to break off,” he said.
He described repeated failed attempts to salvage the relationship over the following year.
“We had a couple of times where we tried to get reunited and nothing ever happened,” Rodgers said.
He also said he had reminded Woodley who ended it.
“Shai, you left me, you took the ring off,” he said.

Rodgers speaking in his final NFL season
The interview is the second of a two-part sit-down with Heyward, a Steelers teammate. Part one, focused on Rodgers’s football career, was published earlier in the week.
Rodgers, 42, is preparing for what he has said will be his final NFL season. He signed a one-year deal with Pittsburgh worth $25 million guaranteed, with additional incentives, and starts under head coach Mike McCarthy, who coached him for 13 seasons with the Green Bay Packers.
