The commitment covers assistants Albert Stuivenberg and Gabriel Heinze, first-team coach Miguel Molina, goalkeeping coach Inaki Cana and set-piece specialist Nicolas Jover, the group that has worked around Arteta as Arsenal climbed back to the top of English football.

“Not only Mikel Arteta but the whole backroom staff will sign new contract at Arsenal. The agreement is done, set to be officially sealed,” Romano posted on X on Tuesday evening, according to GiveMeSport’s write-up.

Deal until 2029, with a sharp pay rise

Arteta’s own contract is reported to run until at least the summer of 2029, two years beyond the terms he agreed in 2024. Sports Mole says he has secured a “sharp pay increase” on a current package that stands at £10m a year plus £5m in bonuses, and the new contract is expected to formalise his role in coordinating the club’s transfer business.

The five coaches last agreed new terms in April 2025, seven months after Arteta signed his current deal, and their contracts were due to expire at the end of this season. Arteta had spoken about the logistical challenge of bundling them together.

“It is difficult because four or five people committing at the same time is not easy to do,” he said.

Stuivenberg has been Arteta’s right-hand assistant since 2019. Jover, whose set-piece work has become one of Arsenal’s clearest tactical fingerprints, arrived from Manchester City in 2021. Heinze is the newest addition to the senior group.

Announcement expected before Leeds

Arsenal ended the 2025/26 Premier League season as champions, their first title in 22 years, and reached the Champions League final in May before losing to Paris Saint-Germain on penalties. Co-chairman Josh Kroenke called retaining the manager an “utmost priority” over the summer.

The current campaign has already produced Arsenal’s first league setback: a 3-0 defeat at Brighton before the international break. The Athletic reports that the club is preparing accompanying content and plans to make the announcement before Arsenal host Leeds on 10 October.
