Bayern Munich’s answer to the clubs chasing Michael Olise is not only a refusal; it is a public sales pitch for the player.
President Herbert Hainer appeared on BILD TV’s “Die Lage der Liga” on Sunday and set out the club’s position in blunt terms.
“Bayern Munich are a club who do not have to sell. We make our decisions from a position of strength. Michael Olise is under contract with us until 2029.”
“Whether Real Madrid or anyone else makes a move, we know how to defend ourselves pretty well. Bayern Munich have plenty to offer.”

Then Hainer went further than most club presidents would.
“I’m convinced he’ll win the Ballon d’Or one day, perhaps even this year.”
A door Olise has quietly left open
The complication for Bayern is that their winger does not sound as settled as his president. According to reporting from early October, Olise would only consider leaving Munich for a Spanish club. Inside the France international’s camp, Real Madrid and Barcelona are the two destinations capable of tempting him out of the Bundesliga. Liverpool, who have also been linked, have been given little encouragement so far, and a return to the Premier League does not currently appeal.
The 24-year-old is coming off a season in which he produced 53 goal contributions in 52 matches, the number Hainer first used in June when he told fans visiting a club gathering in Bavaria that Florentino Pérez could “save himself the trouble” of sending an offer.

Hainer did not deny the interest on Sunday. He priced it out.
“When he came to us, only those in the know knew him. Now the whole football world knows him,” the president said of Olise.
The extension is the whole plan
Olise’s contract in Munich runs until June 2029, giving Bayern the leverage Hainer leaned on throughout the interview. The club’s plan is a new deal that pushes the next transfer conversation several years down the road.
“I would like him to extend his contract at some point, and I am hopeful that he will,” Hainer said.

Four months on from the “save the trouble” line, the list of suitors has grown and Hainer’s tone has sharpened, but no fresh terms have been signed. Formal extension talks have not yet opened in Munich, with Bayern signalling that negotiations will begin soon.
