Big move approaching? Seven-time national champions step up interest in Endrick ahead of January
Endrick joined Real Madrid in July 2024, arriving amid huge expectations after his breakout years at Palmeiras. However, a mix of injuries and fierce competition — especially following Kylian Mbappé’s arrival — has limited his game time.
During his debut campaign, the teenager primarily came off the bench but made a memorable Champions League debut, scoring to become the club’s youngest scorer in the competition. He also impressed in the Copa del Rey, netting five goals and finishing as Madrid’s top scorer in that tournament.
Still, Endrick has struggled to break into Xabi Alonso’s preferred lineup. The Brazilian was left on the bench during the recent El Clásico win over Barcelona, marking yet another week without minutes. Alonso recently told TNT Sports Brasil, “It’s clear everyone wants to play. And a young player even more so. He has to be patient, be prepared, and know that he’s at Real Madrid. His time will come.”
Lyon Lead the Race for His Signature
Romano reported on X (formerly Twitter) that Lyon have initiated official talks with Real Madrid over a potential short-term loan. The journalist wrote:

“Understand Olympique Lyon have started talks to sign Endrick on loan in January. Talks already underway with an official approach to sign the Brazilian striker on loan from Real Madrid. OL presented their plan to Endrick who’s open to talk and assessing all options.”
Romano also confirmed that the deal would be a loan only, with no plans for a permanent transfer. Endrick and his camp continue to view Real Madrid as his long-term home, but believe a temporary move is vital to rebuild confidence and gain match experience.
Lyon’s Revival and the Challenge Ahead
For Lyon, the move fits into their wider rebuild under new president Michele Kang, who took over after the club narrowly avoided relegation due to financial sanctions earlier this year. Following successful appeals and tighter spending oversight, Lyon have bounced back strongly, winning four of their first five Ligue 1 games this season.
However, one possible obstacle could be that Lyon cannot offer Champions League football. They are currently competing in the Europa League, which, while still prestigious, may not provide the same exposure Real Madrid would prefer for their young star.

Endrick’s Next Step
Endrick’s representatives are reviewing multiple offers, but sources suggest Lyon have made the most concrete approach so far. The Brazilian’s priority remains regular playing time in a competitive European environment.
With Madrid thriving at the top of La Liga, opportunities under Alonso appear limited. A loan to France could offer the balance of development, visibility, and responsibility that Endrick needs ahead of the World Cup push.
As Fabrizio Romano summarized, this story is “one to watch very soon.”
