Chisora is picking Joshua, and he thinks it ends inside the distance.
The 42-year-old has an insider’s measure of both men that few can match. He fought Fury on three different nights across 2011, 2014 and 2022, losing all three. He traded rounds with Joshua in sparring in 2013 and again in 2019, when Joshua was still a unified world champion. Chisora laid out his verdict in an interview with GiveMeSport.
“Anthony wins it and he wins it in style. Anthony’s going to knock Tyson Fury out,” Chisora said.
“Someone is getting knocked out.”

A Cardiff fight more than a decade in the making
Fury against Joshua was confirmed on 25 September by Saudi power broker Turki Alalshikh. The two Britons meet at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on Friday 11 December 2026, with the WBA ‘super’ heavyweight title on the line. The main event streams on Netflix at no additional charge for subscribers, with the ring walks timed to suit a US audience.
Both men come into Cardiff off tune-ups rather than top-tier opposition. Fury stopped Mariusz Wach in seven rounds in Pattaya, Thailand on 24 July, in front of around 1,500 fans in a bout that was never aired live. Joshua knocked out Jake Paul in the sixth round of their Netflix event in Miami on 19 December 2025, breaking the YouTuber’s jaw.
Whyte will not call it either way
Dillian Whyte, who has himself shared professional nights with both men, was far less committal than Chisora when GiveMeSport put the same question to him. Whyte did not pick a winner. He did, however, back Chisora’s instinct on one point: he does not see Fury vs Joshua going the distance.
Chisora’s pick carries first-hand data that neither Whyte nor most pundits can match. He has absorbed Fury’s awkward angles and jab across more than thirty rounds, and taken Joshua’s leverage shots in a controlled gym setting across two camps. Both men have since lost to Oleksandr Usyk; their first talks about meeting one another broke down more than a decade ago.

Promoters have cited the retractable roof at the Principality as the reason for the Cardiff pick, with December weather and Wembley’s late-night curfew both ruled out. First bell is 11 December.
