Palmer spent more than an hour on his Twitch channel opening EA FC 27 Ultimate Team packs, according to SportBible’s report on the stream and ChelseaFCOnline’s account. EA Sports’ own account then commented in his chat, publicly asking him to stop, before the broadcast was taken down and Palmer was hit with a Twitch ban.

The problem was the calendar. EA FC 27 does not launch publicly until 25 September 2026, with pre-order early access from 18 September for Ultimate and Ultimate Plus buyers. Palmer’s stream was showing packs and gameplay from a build that was under embargo for everyone else.

Palmer’s Instagram plea

Palmer took the intervention in stride. As reported by SportBible, he replied on Instagram, tagging both Twitch and EA:

“I was only giving the people what they wanted… unban me pls.”

The rating that started it

Some of what Palmer streamed hinted at why opening his own Ultimate Team packs mattered to him personally. His overall in EA FC 27 has dropped from 87 to 85, putting him third among Chelsea players behind Enzo Fernández and Moisés Caicedo on 86, as Chelsea’s own website confirmed when the club ratings were released ahead of launch.

Per SportBible, Palmer vented on the broadcast about the two-point drop: “I had one leg for 10 months. F***ing hell, what do you want me to do?!”

EA FC 27 pre-order early access opens on 18 September, with the full public release on 25 September 2026.
