Several major European clubs – including Salzburg – had scouts present as Ronaldo’s son made his debut for Portugal’s U15 national team
Cristiano Ronaldo Jr.’s debut for Portugal’s U15 national team drew plenty of attention – from both the media and club scouts. The 14-year-old son of the Portuguese superstar earned his first official minutes in national colors during a youth tournament in Croatia, where Portugal defeated Japan 4–1.
According to laola1, Red Bull Salzburg was among the clubs that sent a representative to the match – and speculation about interest in Ronaldo Jr. is now underway.
No goal, but plenty of attention
Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. came on as a substitute in the 54th minute but didn’t score. Still, the debut carried symbolic weight – and clearly attracted a significant number of club scouts in the stands.
In addition to Salzburg, Bayern Munich, Hoffenheim, and RB Leipzig are also reported to have had scouts in attendance. According to The Sun, Manchester United is also monitoring the young striker, who currently plays in Saudi Arabia for Al Nassr’s youth team, where his father stars for the senior side.
General talent scouting – not just about Ronaldo
Although the Ronaldo name naturally draws attention, it’s believed that many of the clubs present in Croatia were on a broader scouting mission, not solely focused on a single player.
Still, it’s noteworthy that the Red Bull network – known for identifying young talent early – is showing interest. And ironically, Ronaldo Sr. himself may soon pass through Salzburg. According to reports, Al Nassr is planning a training camp in Austria, which means both father and son could be closer to Europe’s scouts than one might expect.
