Donald Trump discusses call with Tiger Woods after Florida crash and arrest
Donald Trump has spoken about a private phone call with Tiger Woods following the golfer’s arrest after a car crash in Florida, offering insight into Woods’ condition while drawing attention to his long-standing health struggles.
Woods, 50, was involved in a rollover accident on Friday afternoon near his home on Jupiter Island. According to reports, his vehicle struck the rear of a pressure-washing truck before flipping onto its side. He was able to exit the car without injury.
Authorities later took Woods into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence, along with two additional charges. The Daily Mail reported that officers discovered two loose opioid pills in his possession during a search at the scene.
Speaking to reporters shortly after the incident, Trump confirmed he had been in contact with Woods.

“I have,” Trump said, according to the Daily Mail. “I think he’s doing great, he’s doing good.”
Trump, whose former daughter-in-law Vanessa Trump is currently in a relationship with Woods, also commented on the athlete’s physical condition, pointing to the injuries that have affected his career in recent years.
“He tested negative for alcohol, as you know, and he is under a tremendous physical pressure from his various ailments; you know, the back and the leg,” Trump said.
“He lives a life of pain. He has a lot of pain. He’s an amazing guy. He’s an amazing athlete. He does have pain. He doesn’t have an alcohol problem, but he does have pain.”

While Trump’s remarks framed the incident in the context of Woods’ medical history, the situation has reportedly caused tension in his personal life.
Citing a source close to Vanessa Trump, the Daily Mail reported that she reacted with frustration following the arrest.
“She’s not happy at all,” the source said. “She’s both disappointed and a little bit p***ed, if I’m being honest.”
The source added that she had made clear expectations moving forward: “It’s a definite red flag… He has to get things under control, or she’s not going to stick around.”
The couple have been together since March last year, and the incident is said to be their first major challenge under public scrutiny.
The arrest also echoes a previous episode in 2017, when Woods was charged with DUI after another crash. That incident led to ongoing concerns about his fitness to drive, with reports at the time indicating restrictions involving Trump’s family.
With the latest developments, questions are again being raised about Woods’ situation off the course, even as his legacy in the sport remains firmly established.
