Miroslav Klose finds his reason to admire the man currently leading the Bayern Munich attack somewhere other than the goals.
“He’s also a great role model for me, particularly because he has stayed in Germany,” Klose told Bundesliga.com.
Kane signed a new Bayern contract until June 2029 on November 5, a week on from winning the 2026 Ballon d’Or and becoming the first Englishman to claim the award since Michael Owen in 2001. The England captain has 146 goals in 147 appearances for the club since arriving from Tottenham in 2023, and has finished as the Bundesliga’s top scorer in every one of his seasons in Munich.
“I feel right at home at FC Bayern,” Kane said in the club’s announcement.

Speaking to Bundesliga.com, Klose drew a sharper point about that ascent. Kane had always been able to play football and always scored goals, he said, but the players around him are now more specialized than before, and the England captain has matched that with relentless work. That, Klose said, is why the recognition has come.
Füllkrug’s revival at Werder Bremen
Klose’s assessment of Niclas Füllkrug reads like one striker decoding another’s form. Since returning to Werder Bremen on loan from West Ham United in August, the 33-year-old has scored nine goals in eight Bundesliga matches and currently tops the league’s scoring chart.
“He has a good feel for situations, a good right foot, and he’s always been good in the air,” Klose told Bundesliga.com.
Klose added that he hopes Füllkrug can keep the rhythm. Once a striker builds a run of goals, he said, the momentum can carry a whole season.

Klose’s own promotion push
Klose has his hands full in Franconia. His own contract at 1. FC Nürnberg was extended in February, with the club declining to disclose the length. He credits the strong start to squad depth and internal competition rather than any single name, and he still wants the ball. Possession, he told Bundesliga.com, brings a level of dominance he never lost his taste for as a player.
Nuremberg sit second in the 2. Bundesliga on 21 points from 10 matches, ten behind unbeaten leaders Hertha BSC.
