Hamilton’s wild dream: Ferrari star wants to cross India and climb Mount Everest
Seven time Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton has shared an unexpected personal ambition far removed from the racetrack, a journey across India that could one day lead him to Mount Everest.
According to Open Magazine, Hamilton spoke about the idea while answering questions in a video released by Formula 1, where he described his long term dream of travelling through the region.
"Where I really want to go is... I wanna travel through India and then make my way up through the Himalayas. That's like my future dream for me, and then I'm gonna climb Mount Everest."
The 39 year old British driver remains one of the most successful figures in Formula One history, holding records for the most race victories, pole positions and podium finishes in the sport.

A difficult start at Ferrari
Hamilton heads into the 2026 Formula One season hoping to turn the page after a challenging first year with Scuderia Ferrari.
According to reporting by Open Magazine, the British driver failed to secure a single grand prix podium during the 2025 season and finished the championship 86 points behind teammate Charles Leclerc.
His recent record has also been relatively modest by his own standards. Across the last four seasons Hamilton has taken only two grand prix victories and has been outscored by a teammate in three of those campaigns.
Martin Brundle sees signs of a comeback
Former Formula One driver and commentator Martin Brundle believes the change in technical regulations could help Hamilton regain momentum.

Speaking about the upcoming season, Brundle said Hamilton appears to be in a stronger mental position heading into the year.
"He seems a bit happier. He will be great at using the tools that are available to him under the new regulations. He's got to beat Charles Leclerc in the other Ferrari because he's right on it as well. But a happy Lewis has always been, and not just at Ferrari, a fast Lewis."
Hamilton himself has suggested he is entering the season in a better mindset and has said he enjoys driving Ferrari’s new SF 26 car.
Encouraging signs during Bahrain testing

During sessions at the Bahrain International Circuit, Hamilton drew attention with an especially quick practice start, prompting speculation that Ferrari may have designed a strong launch system for the new regulation era.
According to reports referenced by Open Magazine, the team also received another boost when Charles Leclerc recorded the fastest overall testing time during the final day of running in Bahrain.
Those early indicators have raised hopes that Ferrari could be better positioned for the new season than in recent years.
