Harry Kane’s new deal at Bayern Munich comes down to one unresolved package. Everything else is agreed in principle, according to Sky Germany’s reporting carried on beIN Sports, and the German champions are now pushing to get the striker’s signature on paper before Monday’s Ballon d’Or gala in London.

The two-year extension would take Kane’s current contract, which expires in the summer of 2027, through to June 2029, keeping him at Säbener Straße until the age of 35. He earns a reported €25m a year, and no wage reduction is planned on the renewal.

What is still outstanding, according to German reporting, is a block of image and marketing rights clauses. Max Eberl, Bayern’s sporting director, has publicly put the slow pace down to the fixture calendar.

Hainer confident the deal gets done

Herbert Hainer, the Bayern president, has made no secret of where he thinks the talks sit. In remarks reported by absolutfussball.com, Hainer said he was convinced the paperwork would be done.

“I am very, very optimistic that it will work out soon,” Hainer said.

Monday night at the London Palladium

The Ballon d’Or ceremony takes place at the London Palladium on Monday 26 October, moving out of Paris for the first time as a tribute to the inaugural 1956 winner, Sir Stanley Matthews. The gala starts at 8pm local time.

Kane is one of the leading contenders for the men’s award after a prolific 2025-26 season for club and country. Bayern want the extension announced before he walks the red carpet at 8pm on Monday.
