Jake Paul says he has a “major update” coming on Tuesday morning a tease that has stirred fresh questions about whether his upcoming clash with Anthony Joshua will proceed as planned. The announcement arrives just a week before the pair are scheduled to headline in Miami.

Paul offered no specifics, urging followers on X to tune in at 9 a.m. EST for news he said “had to be done.” The vagueness alone was enough to send fans into a mild panic.

A high-stakes matchup under scrutiny

The fight, set for eight three-minute rounds at the Kaseya Center in Florida, is widely viewed as the most demanding test of Paul’s career. Joshua, a former unified heavyweight champion, remains the overwhelming favorite despite not having boxed since suffering a knockout defeat to fellow Briton Daniel Dubois in September 2024.

Concerns about the bout’s stability aren’t entirely new. Paul has acknowledged before that many critics view him as severely outmatched. He has said his confidence in scoring an upset might be seen as “deluded,” though he insists he is committed to the challenge. He explained during a recent Kick livestream that it likely came from work with heavyweight sparring partners. “I think Lawrence Okolie did that to me he’s like 6ft 6in, 270lbs,” he said, referring to the former cruiserweight world champion. The remark was delivered casually, but fans quickly spun it into another point of curiosity about how Paul’s camp is progressing.

For now, neither promoters nor representatives for either fighter have signaled a change to the schedule. But with tensions already high and Paul leaning into the suspense Tuesday’s announcement is likely to determine whether the fight week unfolds normally or takes a sharp, unexpected turn.
