Julián Álvarez and Lewandowski as a new Barcelona duo
Signs of change
According to Cadena SER journalist Sique Rodríguez, Barcelona view the striker position as the weakest area in Hansi Flick’s system, despite strong performances from Raphinha and Lamine Yamal on the wings.
Robert Lewandowski has recently rediscovered scoring form, including a two-goal performance against Newcastle, but concerns remain inside the club about his age and long-term role.
Ferran Torres’ situation also reflects the uncertainty in attack. After an impressive start to the season, the Spanish forward has not scored since January and has gradually lost prominence in the squad.
Cadena SER contributor Gonzalo Álvarez described Torres’ frustration, saying, "Hvis man ser på hans ansigt på bænken, er han ikke en, man skal tage let på," highlighting visible tension during matches.

Lewandowski’s evolving role
According to Cadena SER, Barcelona are considering offering Lewandowski a one-year contract extension, though on reduced wages compared to his current deal.
Sources cited by the outlet indicate the club envisions a role similar to Girona striker Cristhian Stuani, where Lewandowski would act as an experienced impact substitute and mentor for a younger forward.
Sique Rodríguez explained that Lewandowski would remain decisive in key moments, describing him as a player who can deliver "fordi han har det og vil have det, indtil han dør."
The Polish striker has received interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia and Major League Soccer, but remains settled in Barcelona, where his family is well established.

Álvarez identified as primary target
Barcelona’s main objective is Atlético Madrid forward Julián Álvarez, according to Cadena SER and sources close to club president Joan Laporta.
The report suggests Barcelona believe a deal could be completed for under €100 million, potentially involving a player as part of the transfer.
However, any move will depend on Atlético Madrid’s willingness to negotiate and Álvarez’s own intentions, which remain uncertain.
Speaking about his future, Álvarez said, "Måske ja, måske nej, man ved aldrig," and later added, "Tilfreds her? Ja tak ."

Atlético prepare for possible departure
According to Cadena SER, Atlético Madrid have already begun assessing potential replacements in case Álvarez leaves.
One name under consideration is Marseille forward Mason Greenwood, who previously played in Madrid. Sources cited by the outlet suggest the player would be open to returning to the Spanish capital, although other options are also being explored.
Barcelona’s approach reflects a broader effort to balance immediate competitiveness with long-term squad planning, particularly in reshaping the central attacking role.
