Juventus locks in on Alisson: Turin after World Cup

Juventus is reportedly making a significant push to secure Liverpool's highly-rated goalkeeper, Alisson Becker, a move that could see the Brazilian international depart Anfield amidst a period of transition for the Reds.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, with correspondent Davide Chinellato reporting from London, the Italian giants harbour a strong desire to bring the 33-year-old to Turin. Juventus reportedly dreams of Alisson becoming the cornerstone of their future defence, hoping he will provide the crucial security that manager Luciano Spalletti and the 'new Juve' seek. The club's ambition is for Alisson to be in Turin after the upcoming World Cup.

Liverpool's balancing act

Alisson has been a bastion of reliability for Liverpool since his arrival in 2018, providing consistent security between the posts. His tenure at Anfield has been marked by significant success, including: Two Premier League titles and One Champions League triumph

However, the goalkeeper's future at Anfield is now under scrutiny. His agent is reportedly in Italy to listen to proposals, and Alisson currently has a contract for €5 million net plus bonuses for next season.

Liverpool's management is diligently considering the pros and cons of Alisson's situation. A key factor in their internal discussions is their belief in Mamardashvili as a potential worthy replacement. Yet, the notes indicate that Mamardashvili has not consistently provided the "great security" that Alisson has become known for.

Further complicating matters for the Merseyside club is the ongoing uncertainty surrounding their next head coach, with names like Slot and Xabi Alonso still being discussed. This period of managerial transition adds another layer of complexity to any potential player movements.

Alisson, who will be the starting goalkeeper for Brazil under Carlo Ancelotti at the World Cup, finds himself at a pivotal situation. As Juventus intensifies its pursuit, Liverpool faces a complex decision regarding one of its most influential players, balancing his proven quality against the club's long-term strategy and immediate transitional challenges.
