Liverpool consider €50m Barcelona winger amid wider rebuild

Barcelona link emerges

According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool are monitoring the situation of Barcelona winger Roony Bardghji as they evaluate potential attacking additions. The report cites information from Spanish outlet Fichajes, which claims the Premier League club have identified the 20-year-old as a player of interest.

Fichajes reported that Liverpool are weighing up a bid in the region of €50m for the Sweden international. The Spanish outlet added that Barcelona’s ongoing financial constraints could make them receptive to offers, although no formal proposal has been confirmed.

Why Bardghji is on the radar

According to Fichajes, Liverpool’s recruitment staff have been encouraged by Bardghji’s impact during his first months in LaLiga. While his overall statistics this season stand at two goals and four assists from 14 appearances, TEAMtalk noted that many of those outings have come in limited minutes off the bench.

The winger’s performance in the Spanish Super Cup semi final against Athletic Club, where he scored once and set up two more goals, has been cited as one factor behind the growing attention from abroad.

Long term planning at Anfield

Fichajes also suggested that Liverpool view Bardghji as a possible long term successor to Mohamed Salah. The report referenced ongoing speculation around Salah’s future, including potential interest from Saudi Arabian clubs ahead of the summer window.

TEAMtalk, however, stressed that such claims remain speculative and should be treated with caution, particularly given the source of the report.

Source reliability and alternative targets

According to TEAMtalk, Fichajes does not have a strong track record when it comes to elite level transfer reporting. The outlet added that its own information points toward Liverpool exploring other attacking options as well.

TEAMtalk reported that Liverpool have joined Arsenal in making an enquiry for a winger currently at Paris Saint Germain, indicating that Bardghji is one of several names under consideration rather than a priority target.

Defensive work already underway

Away from the forward line, Liverpool have already moved decisively in defence. According to TEAMtalk, teenage centre back Noah Adekoya has joined the club from Burnley after captaining their under 18 side last season.

The same report stated that a deal has been agreed for Austrian defender Ifeanyi Ndukwe, who will remain at Austria Wien until the end of the campaign before linking up with Liverpool in the summer.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed separately that Liverpool have reached a verbal agreement to sign Mor Ndiaye from Amitie FC in Senegal, using his trademark confirmation phrase to signal that the move is close to completion.

Recruitment picture taking shape

According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool are also tracking Wolves striker Mateus Mane, with scouts from Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City recently watching the 18-year-old in action.

While Mane is not expected to move during the current window, the report noted that his situation could change in the summer, particularly if Wolves fail to avoid relegation.

Taken together, the reports underline how Liverpool’s January activity reflects a broader recruitment strategy rather than a single transfer focus, with the club balancing immediate needs against longer term succession planning.
