Liverpool explore wide options as Salah’s future remains a moving target
Liverpool’s long-term planning out wide is gathering momentum, with club officials continuing to monitor several potential successors in case Mohamed Salah eventually moves on.
Although Salah remains central to Arne Slot’s attack, lingering uncertainty around his contract situation and recurring interest from Saudi Arabia have prompted the club to keep their winger market evaluations active.
Rather than focusing on one marquee name, Liverpool appear to be surveying a broad range of profiles from Premier League proven performers to high-ceiling European projects.
Semenyo’s release clause puts clubs on alert
According to GIVEMESPORT and reporting from Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool have made early enquiries into Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo, who is understood to have a release clause close to £65 million. That mechanism could allow for a relatively straightforward January exit if a club is willing to meet the fee.

Semenyo’s ability to stretch play on either flank has been one of Bournemouth’s biggest assets this season. For Liverpool, that versatility carries obvious appeal, especially as Slot experiments with more fluid wide rotations. Whether Liverpool actually pull the trigger may depend on broader market dynamics, as several clubs are believed to be assessing the same clause.
Diomande: high potential, high price
Reporter Sacha Tavolieri has indicated that Liverpool remain in discussions with representatives of RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, one of the Bundesliga’s breakout teenagers. Diomande’s acceleration and confidence in tight spaces have quickly caught attention, though Leipzig are thought to value him around £88 million.
That figure would represent a significant leap of faith for Liverpool. While the club has invested in youth before, insiders cited by Tavolieri describe Diomande as a long-term developmental piece rather than a player expected to compete immediately for Salah’s minutes. It raises the question of whether Liverpool would commit that level of spending this early in his career.
Barcola’s unsettled contract talks create an opening
French outlet Le 10 Sport reports that Liverpool maintain “very active” interest in Bradley Barcola, who is in negotiations over an extended deal with Paris Saint-Germain. Barcola is said to be unsure about his trajectory within the squad, and that uncertainty may be enough for outside clubs to at least ask the question.

Barcola produced 42 goal contributions last season during PSG’s treble-winning campaign numbers that place him firmly in the elite young-winger bracket. Any pursuit, though, would require PSG to shift their stance on a player they still view as integral to their medium-term plans.
Rodrygo’s situation worth monitoring
According to TEAMtalk, Real Madrid forward Rodrygo would be open to a move to Liverpool if the opportunity arose. Madrid’s valuation close to £79 million remains steep, but Rodrygo has seen his playing time fluctuate under Carlo Ancelotti due to competition from Vinícius Júnior and Kylian Mbappé.
Whether Madrid would consider negotiating depends largely on squad needs and Rodrygo’s own ambitions. Liverpool, meanwhile, have historically been cautious about committing such fees unless the fit is perfect.
A Merseyside possibility with complications attached
Several outlets have suggested that Liverpool have made informal enquiries about Iliman Ndiaye of Everton. While the player’s skill set pressing intensity, comfort across attacking roles could translate well to Liverpool’s system, the chances of Everton approving a direct transfer remain extremely slim. Cross-city moves of this nature are rare, and the political backlash alone would be significant.

Olise shines in Germany, but Bayern stand firm
Liverpool have also been linked with Michael Olise, whose early form at Bayern Munich has exceeded expectations. With 14 goal contributions in his first 10 Bundesliga starts, the 23-year-old has quickly become one of the most dangerous wide players in Germany.
However, Bayern’s reluctance to entertain offers appears well-founded. Olise is young, productive, and still improving a combination that usually leads to a long stay unless the player pushes for a move.
