There are now four names on the list of teenagers who have gone for at least 30 points and 10 assists in an NBA game, and three of them are LeBron James, Luka Dončić and Stephon Marbury. The fourth is Darius Acuff Jr.
The Sacramento Kings rookie finished with 34 points, 14 assists, six rebounds and three triples in his fifth NBA game, shooting 13-of-26 from the floor across more than 40 minutes.
Acuff was 19 years and 347 days old on Thursday night. James has done it three times, Dončić once and Marbury once.
First Kings rookie since 1988 with 30 and 10
The individual numbers did not change the night in New Orleans. The Pelicans beat Sacramento 132-120 at the Smoothie King Center, leaving the Kings 0-5 and the only winless team in the Western Conference.

Acuff’s 34 points tied Tyreke Evans’ franchise record for a Kings rookie in a single game. He also became the first Sacramento rookie since Kenny Smith in 1988 to post 30 points and 10 assists in the same outing.
Christie sees a point guard taking shape
Head coach Doug Christie saw a point guard managing a game, not only scoring in it.
“He is learning how to lead. He is learning how to pick and choose his spots – (14) assists is a great number,” Christie told reporters.
Acuff went into halftime with 21 of his points before cooling off. He turned the ball over six times and shot 3-of-11 from three.

Second 30-point night in five games
Sacramento took Acuff with the seventh overall pick in the 2026 draft, and his scoring has climbed each night. Over the past 40 years, only Shaquille O’Neal and Allen Iverson had put together multiple 30-point games this quickly out of the gate.
The Kings play at Memphis later Saturday with a first win of the season still to find.
