Neymar dragged to court by former cook over brutal 16-hour workdays

Brazilian football star Neymar is facing a legal dispute after a woman who says she previously worked as a cook in his household filed a labour lawsuit over alleged working conditions.

According to Transfer News Live, citing a report from Record, the case has been filed at Rio de Janeiro’s Regional Labour Court, TRT-1. The former employee claims she worked extremely long shifts while preparing meals for large gatherings at the property.

The lawsuit centres on allegations of excessive working hours, physically demanding tasks and unpaid overtime during her time working at Neymar’s residence.

She claims the schedule included both weekdays and weekends, particularly when events were held at the residence.

The cook says she was frequently responsible for preparing food for more than 150 people during gatherings hosted at the property.

Heavy lifting and demanding kitchen duties

According to Record, the role also involved physically demanding kitchen work.

The woman alleges she was regularly required to lift large pieces of meat weighing around 10 kilograms, along with heavy cooking equipment used to prepare meals for large groups.

The lawsuit seeks approximately €43,000 in compensation. The claim includes payment for alleged unpaid overtime, medical expenses and damages linked to the reported injuries.

Legal case under review in Rio court

The case has been filed with Rio de Janeiro’s TRT-1 labour court, where the claims and supporting evidence will be examined as part of ongoing proceedings.
