Nicolas Jackson’s future uncertain as Bayern shift focus to young striker
According to Bild, Bayern do not plan to make signings in January—even if Sacha Boey leaves—because the club believes the current squad can handle the remainder of the season. Preparations for summer recruitment are already underway.
Last summer’s loan for Nicolas Jackson is unlikely to become permanent. Bild reported that Bayern are hesitant to activate the €65 million purchase clause, viewing the fee as too high for a player who has not yet secured a long-term role.
The club’s leading candidate, according to Bild and the Danish outlet Bold.dk, is 21-year-old Franculino Dju of Midtjylland. He has scored 19 goals and added three assists this season, and both German and Danish reports describe him as Bayern’s preferred young forward target.
Vlahović monitored as secondary option
Bayern are also tracking Juventus striker Dusan Vlahović, whose contract situation has become increasingly relevant in Italy. Bild has linked Bayern with monitoring his status, while Gazzetta dello Sport has reported on Juventus’ uncertainty over a renewal. At this stage, Vlahović is viewed internally as an opportunistic option rather than the primary target.

Kane’s blistering output—20 goals in 12 Champions League matches—has allowed Bayern to focus on complementary profiles instead of high-cost replacements.
Kompany’s influence
Despite major departures over the last year, including Leroy Sané, Kingsley Coman and Thomas Müller, Bayern remain unbeaten in 16 matches across all competitions. Vincent Kompany’s model, built on compact pressing and fluid possession, has given the squad renewed tactical clarity.
Uncertainty at centre-back
Contract talks with Dayot Upamecano are emerging as a key storyline. Bild reported that Real Madrid have initiated contact with his representatives. Spanish reporting, including Football España and insider information cited by FCBinside.com, has also confirmed Madrid’s interest.
Should negotiations stall, Bayern are evaluating alternatives. Internal discussions have included Nico Schlotterbeck (Borussia Dortmund), while Ibrahima Konaté (Liverpool) and Marc Guéhi (Crystal Palace) remain on the scouting list.

Looking ahead
Bayern return to domestic action against St. Pauli, but the larger decisions—particularly the pursuit of a young striker and the future of Upamecano—will shape the club’s squad profile for several seasons.
