The France international’s current deal runs until 2029 and contains no exit route, and that omission is exactly why the clause has become the centerpiece of the negotiation. Bayern were able to slam the door on Real Madrid during the summer transfer window precisely because there was nothing to trigger.
Bayern’s proposal would push Olise’s wages toward £21m per year, in line with what Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala already earn at the club, up from a current salary in the region of £12m annually. The extension would tie him to Munich for another three seasons beyond 2029.
The France camp, and Real Madrid
Olise used France’s World Cup camp to seek out Kylian Mbappé and Aurélien Tchouaméni for information about life at Real Madrid, according to L’Equipe. The same report claimed Olise had already made up his mind that he wanted to leave Germany for Madrid.
Bayern held firm. With no clause to activate, no Madrid bid could get off the ground.

Liverpool circling
Liverpool have been named alongside Real Madrid as European heavyweights monitoring Olise’s situation. Either club would need to meet something close to €200m to move for him if Bayern hand him what he wants.
Bayern’s leverage, and Olise’s
Sport Bild’s Christian Falk first flagged Bayern’s willingness to attach an unusually large clause, with figures inside the club discussed in a range of €150m to €250m. The strategy is to resolve his future before summer 2027, when Olise would enter the final two years of his current deal and the balance of leverage would tilt back to the player.
Management is bracing for a tougher conversation than the one Bayern had with Kane. Olise and his agent Glen Tweneboah have so far given no public signal on whether they intend to sign at all beyond 2029.
Sporting director Christoph Freund has kept the details out of public view.

“As a matter of principle, we never talk about the contents of the contract,” Freund said.
Olise arrived from Crystal Palace in 2024, was named Bundesliga Player of the Season in his first Bayern campaign, and produced seven assists at the 2026 World Cup. He has opened this season with eight goals and four assists in seven Bayern appearances.
