Revealed: Bayern stance on Harry Kane’s future after £57m clause expires
Bayern Munich are moving to strengthen their long-term relationship with Harry Kane as the club looks to remove any uncertainty surrounding its leading striker.
The England captain remains under contract in Munich until the summer of 2027, but club officials are already exploring the possibility of extending that agreement sooner rather than later.
According to German newspaper BILD, Bayern’s leadership is considering offering Kane an improved salary as part of a new deal that would underline his importance to the team.
“The club's management wants to underline his enormous value to the team and is prepared to pay the league's biggest star a raise ahead of schedule,” BILD reported.

Clause Window Passes Without Offers
Earlier provisions in Kane’s contract reportedly allowed clubs outside Germany to begin negotiations if they submitted a bid of around £57 million ($77 million).
However, GOAL reported that no club triggered that option before it expired during the winter transfer window in 2026.
With the clause no longer active, any team hoping to sign the striker would now need to negotiate directly with Bayern and meet whatever valuation the Bundesliga champions place on their top scorer.
At this stage, Bayern have little intention of entering transfer discussions. Instead, their priority appears to be ensuring Kane remains central to the club’s plans beyond the current deal.

Barcelona Rumours Dismissed
Speculation around Kane’s future increased recently after Barcelona presidential candidate Xavi Vilajoana suggested he would attempt to bring the striker to Camp Nou if elected.
Kane, however, played down those comments when asked about the rumours.
“I haven’t heard anything about it. My father and brother handle everything, but they haven’t said anything to me,” Kane said.
“As I’ve already said, I’m very happy here at Bayern. I’m focused on this season and my time at Bayern. I take it as a compliment.”

Reports from CFBayernInsider also indicate the links are unfounded, noting that Kane’s representatives have not received any formal approach from Barcelona.
Confidence Inside Bayern
Within Bayern, there is widespread belief the 32-year-old striker will continue his career in Munich, where he has settled with his wife Kate and their four children.
Club legend Lothar Matthäus believes extending Kane’s contract should be a straightforward decision.
“Now he’s winning title after title, which he didn’t manage to do before in England. So I see no reason why Harry Kane should leave this club or his environment. His contract will be extended. I’m sure of that,” Matthäus said on Sky90 – die Fußballdebatte.

“He knows what he has in his coach (Vincent Kompany); he repays the trust the coach gives him. He plays in a functioning team. Who knows if he would shine elsewhere? Who knows if he could play as well elsewhere as he does here under Kompany?
“He’s a global brand, he’s the second David Beckham because everyone in the world knows him. He has no haters – not in Frankfurt, not in Dortmund.”
Prolific Season Continues
Kane’s value to Bayern has been evident throughout the current campaign. The striker has scored 45 goals in 37 appearances across all competitions, marking one of the most prolific seasons of his career.
A recent minor injury briefly raised doubts about his pursuit of Robert Lewandowski’s Bundesliga record of 41 goals in a single season, but the England captain is expected to return soon.
