Rodrygo’s season over after horror knee injury as Neymar sends emotional message
Rodrygo suffers serious knee injury against Getafe
Real Madrid forward Rodrygo is set for a long recovery after suffering a significant knee injury during a La Liga match against Getafe.
According to Real Madrid, medical examinations carried out after the game confirmed that the Brazilian attacker tore the anterior cruciate ligament and lateral meniscus in his right knee.
The club announced the diagnosis the day after the match, confirming that the injury will require a lengthy rehabilitation period.
Rodrygo is expected to be sidelined for approximately nine to twelve months, a timeline that rules him out for the remainder of the current season and could also place his participation in the 2026 World Cup in doubt.

His absence will force Real Madrid to adjust their attacking rotation during a demanding period of the campaign, while Brazil could also face a significant gap in their forward line if the recovery timeline stretches close to the 2026 World Cup.
Neymar concluded his message by encouraging Rodrygo to stay strong during the recovery process.
“And as you said, you don't deserve to go through this right now... but who are we to question God's plans 🙏
Little brother... STRENGTH, I'm sure you'll come back flying.”
