Senegal have struck first against Belgium in their World Cup round-of-32 meeting in Seattle.

After an aggressive opening from the African side, the breakthrough arrived when Habib Diarra fired Senegal into a 1-0 lead, putting Belgium under immediate pressure in a knockout match that already carried danger for the European side.
