Sloboda Tuzla, one of the oldest clubs in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Premier League, has taken the drastic step of dismissing its entire squad and coaching staff following a historically poor start to the season. Here are the key details of the decision.
A catastrophic start

Sloboda Tuzla has endured a dreadful season, sitting at the bottom of the league with just 2 points from 17 matches. The team has lost 15 games, scored only 5 goals, and conceded 36.
A drastic decision

Club president Azmir Husić made the bold move to fire the entire squad and coaching staff after the team’s final match of the year. The decision was driven by poor performances on the pitch and financial difficulties off it.
Economic recovery

A major factor behind the dismissals is the club’s finances. Previous management had signed unsustainable player contracts, which are now being terminated to stabilize the club’s budget.
Players can stay – under new terms

Some players will be offered new contracts that are more realistic for the club’s financial situation. At the same time, all players have been given the freedom to find new clubs if they prefer.
A fresh start

Husić plans to rebuild the team with players from local leagues and more manageable contracts. The goal is to fight for survival in the remaining 16 matches of the season.
A new coach incoming

Coach Nalić is also leaving the club. According to Husić, Sloboda Tuzla needs a “new face” to lead the team through the rebuilding phase.
Can the club turn things around?

“It will be difficult, but it’s possible,” said Husić. Sloboda Tuzla faces a monumental challenge, but with the right changes, they hope to secure their place in the league.
