Fulham have opened lines to Thomas Frank as they weigh their options with Álvaro Arbeloa, according to reports.
Football Insider reported on Saturday that the west London club have sounded the 52-year-old out, viewing him as a “good match” for the squad. Nothing has been agreed and no official approach has been confirmed.
Arbeloa was appointed head coach on 7 July after Marco Silva’s departure, and the Spaniard’s first two months have been difficult. Fulham sit 19th and remain without a Premier League win from five matches, with reports pointing to unease inside the dressing room. The run of fixtures after the international break is expected to shape whether the 43-year-old keeps his job.
Free since February
Frank has been out of work since Tottenham sacked him in February, ending a short and troubled spell in north London that followed his long build-up of Brentford from Championship promotion into an established Premier League side. He won only 13 of his 38 games at Spurs, the lowest win ratio of any of their permanent Premier League-era managers.

He is now monitoring Premier League situations and is keen to return to management, according to Caught Offside. Crystal Palace sounded him out earlier this year before appointing Pierre Sage, whose own start has been difficult with 11 goals conceded in his first four league games.
The Brentford blueprint
Frank’s Brentford years, built on high pressing and tight defensive structure without one of the division’s bigger budgets, are the profile Fulham are said to value. His short Tottenham stint, which ended in dismissal in February, split opinion on how well his methods travel to a bigger squad.
For now, Arbeloa remains Fulham’s head coach and no formal approach to Frank has been confirmed by either the club or the Dane’s representatives.
