Charlie Woods made his Florida State commitment official at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach Gardens on Friday 6 November, and both of his parents turned up to watch him sign. Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren, divorced since 2010, stood on either side of their son in Seminoles gear for a signing-day photo that was quickly picked up across US media.
Nordegren arrived with her partner, former NFL tight end Jordan Cameron, and their children. Both sides of Charlie’s blended family were in the room for the Benjamin ceremony, where the 17-year-old put his name to the paperwork binding him to Florida State for the Class of 2027.
The commitment itself is not new. Charlie verbally committed to Florida State back in February; Friday was the formal signing, part of Benjamin’s fall signing-day event. He joins a Class of 2027 recruiting group that also includes Miles Russell, the current No. 1 in the American Junior Golf Association’s Rolex Rankings.
Charlie’s run into signing day
Charlie arrived at his signing in form. He shot a 2-under 69 to win the individual district title at Champions Club at Summerfield in Stuart on 27 October, finishing with a 40-foot putt on the 18th that also sealed the team district crown for Benjamin. At the regional championship that followed, he carded a 1-under 70, tying teammate Brooks Colton for the team lead as the Buccaneers edged rival Oxbridge Academy.

According to the Palm Beach Post, Florida State’s men’s golf program was last ranked No. 47 across Division I programs.
A rare joint appearance
Tiger Woods and Nordegren married in 2004 and divorced in 2010 following reports of his infidelity, but they have made a practice of showing up together for Charlie and daughter Sam’s milestones. Both parents attended the Benjamin School’s state championship ceremony in March 2024, when the Buccaneers were honoured for their 2023 Class 1A title, and have been photographed at Charlie’s tournaments and awards nights more than once since.
What was different on Friday was the group shot: Tiger, Elin, Charlie, Jordan Cameron and the Cameron children, all in one frame, in Florida State colors. Tiger wore a garnet Florida State T-shirt for the ceremony.
Vanessa Trump rumors from an unnamed source
The timing fed one strand of US celebrity coverage because of unverified reports earlier this month about Woods’ relationship with Vanessa Trump. An unnamed source told Globe magazine, as relayed by IB Times UK on 2 November, that Woods is in no hurry to propose.

“Tiger adores Vanessa. But he’s also got a lot of baggage from his first marriage,” the source told the magazine.
The claims come from an unnamed insider cited by a tabloid and have not been confirmed by Woods, Trump or anyone close to them. Woods publicly confirmed the relationship on social media in March 2025. Neither has announced an engagement.
