The agent link is the hook that gives this rumour its texture. According to a report from FootballFanCast, Loftus-Cheek is represented by the same agency as Marmoush, a connection flagged as a line of communication rather than a done deal.
The wider framing comes from a TEAMtalk exclusive, which reports Tottenham have lodged an enquiry about signing Loftus-Cheek from AC Milan in January, with Fikayo Tomori floated as part of a possible double deal. Marmoush himself joined Spurs on loan from Manchester City in the summer.
Milan prepared to sell
The Italian side are willing to let both former Chelsea players move on, with their contracts set to expire at the end of the season. For Milan, a January sale is the alternative to losing two senior players for nothing in the summer.
Loftus-Cheek, 30, is not considered central to the plans of AC Milan head coach Ruben Amorim, according to TEAMtalk. Amorim’s own start at San Siro has drawn attention, with Yahoo Sports reporting he has become the first Milan coach since 1963 to go unbeaten in his opening seven Serie A games.

Not an exclusive race
Spurs are far from alone in receiving the pitch. Newcastle United have also enquired about the pair, drawing on an established working relationship with Milan from the Sandro Tonali and Malick Thiaw deals. TEAMtalk adds that Brentford and Nottingham Forest are checking on Loftus-Cheek, while Frank Lampard, now at Coventry City, is an admirer of both players from his time at Chelsea.
That breadth matters. It suggests Milan are shopping their expiring assets widely rather than negotiating with a preferred buyer, and it makes any suggestion of an advanced Tottenham deal premature.
What it would mean for De Zerbi
Roberto De Zerbi was confirmed as Tottenham’s head coach on 31 March 2026 on a long-term contract, and the Italian is now shaping his first full season in north London. A box-to-box midfielder with Premier League experience would, on paper, fit the profile Spurs have been linked with repeatedly in recent windows.
Neither club has publicly addressed the reporting, and no bid has been made. The January transfer window opens on 1 January, and until then the Loftus-Cheek story remains what it is now: an early-market enquiry from one of several interested Premier League sides.
